This was a fun one. So I got an audition request asking for a villain of some sort for some game’s promotional content. I didn’t get any details beyond that.
But the script revealed some pretty fun clues. Like lairs, duelists, and traps.
This had to be Yu-Gi-Oh.
Sure enough, it was! I was asked to voice Baron Bloodthorne for Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel’s Shadow Duelist 3 event. Players and Fans were challenged to guess who the celebrity in hiding was. It all lead up to the unmasking event- where Dylan Sprouse was unveiled to be the duelist behind the mask! Even I had no idea, but the clues totally make sense in hindsight.
It was fun to watch people’s guesses. Folks were saying the celebrity had to be a voice actor. There were a ton of famous voice actors’ names thrown out, which felt like a checklist of things I must have gotten right. I was beaming reading the guesses. Nope- that voice was just little ol’ me, losing my mind laughing like a madman behind the mic. Fooled you!
