MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is set in the black-and-white city of Mouseburg, a corrupt metropolis brought to life in the hand-drawn rubber-hose animation style of 1930s cartoons. You play Jack Pepper, a hard-boiled private investigator drawn into a citywide conspiracy involving crooked politicians, mob bosses, and murder. What begins as a routine case spirals into a dangerous investigation that threatens to expose the rot at the heart of Mouseburg.
The game blends the vintage look of classic animation with the fast-paced action of old-school first-person shooters. Journalists have compared it to Cuphead, DOOM, and BioShock, praising its jazz-soaked atmosphere, inventive cartoon weaponry, and striking visual style.
